Families: Did You Know?

From kindergarten to high school graduation and beyond, you can make a difference in your loved one's career development. Whether it's helping your youngster develop a positive self-concept, modeling and reinforcing work skills, or exposing your child to lots of occupations, including a day on the job with you, your involvement is critical.

Take a look at the activities and resources in the Family Resources section and also on the appropriate age group pages to guide you as you support your youngster. Find out how your child learns best and use that knowledge to help him or her be a better student. What does your child like? Dislike? What are his or her strengths? These are important questions to answer before choosing an occupation. So, get involved! In the long run, it will benefit both of you.
